Juicing Tips and Tricks
Juicing is one of the great additions to our daily diet especially if you are a health-conscious person. It is a way for you to consume more vegetables and fruits into your system without wasting too much time cooking them.
There are many reasons why people engage in juicing. Some just wanted to use it for quicker system cleansing and implement a better, balanced diet. There are also those who just wanted to cut some weight. But, most people just wanted to incorporate good foods into their daily diet.
Too often, cooking destroys a lot of nutrients and enzymes that are found in food, which could significantly improve your health. If you use a juicing equipment rather than cooking, the healthy benefits found in the food remain intact. The process of juicing can help you retain the great and healthy qualities of the vegetable and fruit without adding sugar and other fattening flavoring just to make it tasty. Juicing will save you more money than you can imagine since pre-made juice is often expensive. Plus, you can create your own healthy meal from the juice mixture.
Choosing the Right Juicer
Before you can juice anything, you must choose the right equipment to do the task. You can choose from cheaper, manual models to high-end juicing tools. It is ideal that you invest a little on your juicer otherwise it would take a lot of time for you to juice a fruit or vegetable.
There are generally three models of juicers including:
Manual: This requires a lot of effort and strength in some versions in addition to the longer length of time required to juice fruits and vegetables. Some models are built lightweight so you should not put too much pressure on it. This means to say that you can’t do batch juicing, which leaves you with smaller quantities.
Masticating: This version is very helpful especially since it can chew pulps making it more convenient to release the juice from the vegetable or fruit. Masticating juicers are single-geared and work slow but performance-wise, the slow juice creation eradicates heat that could destroy the beneficial enzymes and nutrients from vegetables and fruits. These juicers are much quieter than centrifugal ones because they have low speed. However, many enthusiasts prefer centrifugal models.
Centrifugal: These juicers shred the vegetables and fruits before spinning and straining them. This allows you to get more juice than pulp. These juicers have high speed so it makes considerable noise but since the process takes lesser time the noise level is negligible. If you get centrifugal juicers, you might want to regularly remove the pup especially if you do this in large amounts of juices for later consumption.
Not all juicers are the same and there are juicers that can produce large quantities of juice. Generally, juicers can juice up to one pound of vegetables and fruits. A pound of fruits and vegetables can make eight ounces of juice but this entirely depends on what model you will get.
